Bad stuff happens…That’s not tragedy….That’s bad stuff and it happens. Tragedy is when bad stuff happens and we become bitter and angry. Tragedy is when bad stuff happens and we stop living even though we are still alive.
When a patient gets diagnosed with cancer, he might get angry, bitter, or depressed. He might become isolated from his family and loved ones. He may start to die five years before he should.
Or ….
He might resolve differences that he has had with family and friends for years. He might appreciate every sunset and be thankful that God has let him live another day. He might live more fully in the last five years with cancer than he would have in twenty years without it.
Tragedy is when we let the bad stuff that will happen, control our lives and negatively affect the rest of our lives.
