"Is the cup half empty or half full?" So goes the proverbial question divining the pessimist from the optimist, and I've grown weary and wary of it. It's really a trick question. You only need to be asked the question once to know there is but one acceptable answer: half full. Anyone who says otherwise is promptly declared a prime candidate to have her head examined for, first of all, foolishly not delivering the acceptable answer and, secondly, to realign her skewed and soured perspective.It doesn't take much longer to figure out that only optimists pose the question. They thrust it out like a fencing parry to expose pessimists who refusing to get with the program obstruct their progress.
