"Connecting the Christian Community"

Welcome to Island Christian Guide.com

Letter from the editors, October 2007:

“Connecting the Christian Community.” It’s more than a tag line to us, and we hope that you see that in this issue. We firmly believe that God’s heart-desire is to see the Christian Community working together in unity, here in Hawaii and across the world. We want to be used by God as a catalyst for that to happen. So, we have designed this issue of the Guide to encourage you to actively participate in Connecting the Christian Community. In the pages of this issue of the Island Christian Guide, you will find information that talks about the who, what, how and why of Connecting the Christian Community.

The "why" message starts with the pictures of married couples on our cover. Marriage is the institution that most represents our relationship with God, and it is the foundation upon which the Church rests. Next is the family, then the community fellowships, such as church, work and friends.

In this October 2007 issue of the Guide, you will find special messages from the couples on the cover and from others too. You'll also find articles about why connecting is important, and ideas on how do it better.

There's also more information about our faith itself. We've reprinted some of the ancient creeds to help us understand that while we may belong to different denominations, we still have the same foundation of faith.

We hope that these and other features that we've added this year will encourage and inspire you to Connect in the Christian Community.

May this coming year be a blessed one that sees God glorified as never before, in Hawaii and around the world!

Mahalo and God bless,

Tip of the Week – With the rising gas costs, it is even more important to properly maintain your vehicle for maximum fuel efficiency. Make sure that you do all the recommended services and watch your MPG. If it starts to drop significantly, give your mechanic a call.
